I was in Paris recently and I am here to report that we are not alone in the States in our love of glitter, floral crowns, and temporary tattoos.

My French husband’s cousin, Iris, one of my favorite people, and a lovely and talented 20-year-old, spent quite a bit of time plotting the ways in which she would earn her summer’s keep by painting henna tattoos, jagua tattoos, and white henna tattoos on people in Paris. Should I set myself up by the Eiffel Tower? No, too much competition with other people offering so many different ways for tourists to spend their euros. How about in Montmartre?—that legendary quarter where famed artists of the early 20th century, like Picasso and Van Gogh and Salvador Dalí had studios, and where artists sit in the streets daily, painting on easels and offering portraits and caricatures to passers-by. Yes!

Iris had interned in our offices last summer, and she took to temporary tattoos from the get-go. She’s a natural at it, and when she went back home, we loaded her up with henna powder and jagua gel for her to draw on her friends. She became the hit of her pack, and the go-to girl for cool designs. When she learned about our new white henna tattoo kit that also comes with glitter, she was stoked. Can’t wait to see photos of her handiwork at the end of summer 2017.

While in Paris, we visited with lots of family and friends, and one of the places we stayed was with my husband’s first cousin, Julie who, with her husband Julien, has two adorable little girls, who also went nuts when they saw our new glitter kit. The girls are 7 and 11 years old, and there were flower crowns lying about in their rooms, and glitter strewn all over the house. Some trends go global and keep on going!

But I know that little girls and 20-year-olds aren’t the only ones who love temporary tattoos. Their moms, my friends, and even grandmas love it. What’s not to love? Beautiful body adornment that fades in one to two weeks, and you get to start all over again with something new! It’s clear to me that, from Paris to Los Angeles, temporary tattoos are hot, Hot, HOT!
